Reusable bottles and water filters
Over the last few weeks, we have been talking about the danger of disposable plastic and showing you different alternatives to replace its use. Another one is to change bottled water to reusable bottles, with filters that improve the taste and remove impurities from tap water.
In this article, we will provide you with some options to stop buying bottled water or at least reduce its use! Don’t forget that a plastic bottle can take up to 400 years to degrade in nature, decomposing in small particles (microplastics) that end up in oceans, can be confused for food and eaten by fish and at last, we end up eating those plastics. Meanwhile, a lot of marine animals already died stuck in that waste.
Bobble
These bottles are a practical solution because they have a water filter included. However are made from plastic and the filter needs to be replaced, a maximum of every two months. The plastic bottle starts to become yellowish with the use and can easily kneaded.

24 Bottles
Unlike Bobble bottles, those ones are not filter included. So if you wish, you will need to filter the water first before filling in the bottle. On the other hand are made from stainless steel making them much more durable. Furthermore, they are modern, lightweight, cool, and urban, with a lot of colors and patterns that you can choose. We use one with a sports lid with flip-open straw, which is super easy to drink even when you are exercising.
You can see all bottle options, for cold and hot drinks, here.

Binchotan Charcoal Water Filter
You may be thinking “But, Charcoal?!”. “Yes, Charcoal!”. Binchotan charcoal was discovered by the Japanese and has been used in their culture for years. It’s 100% healthy and has a lot of benefits: softens water, eliminates unpleasant tastes and smells, like chlorine, adds good minerals, and soaks impurities.
And is very easy to use: you just need to put it inside the bottle, add drinkable tap water, and after one hour will be good to drink or better allow it during the night to let the filter work perfectly. For one bottle with an activated charcoal filter, filled in every day, the filter can last approximately 3 months, and will subsequently be necessary to reactivate (just need to boil it for 10 minutes and then dry, ideally in the sun). This way will be ready to be used for more than three months.
You can purchase it and find more information about Binchotan charcoal, for example at Black-Blum shop.
